ESCA is committed to providing information in English and encouraging cancer awareness.

From January 24th to March 13th every tuesday, ESCA is organising a Mindfulness Based Cancer Recovery program. Click to see further details.

Key Annual Awareness Events

Each year, there are two main awareness events that are organized by ESCA for the general public:

Regular Events

Throughout the year ESCA also organizes other activities specifically for cancer patients and loved ones.

ESCA also actively participates in many activities that are organized by other associations and groups throughout the year, especially during October’s International Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

In October, in addition to the many breast cancer awareness activities, ESCA has an information stand at the increasingly popular Expat Expo at the Palexpo.

This event is to inform newcomers to the region of the many businesses and services that are useful to English-speakers.

In December, an ESCA team of volunteers participates in the Geneva’s annual Escalade Walk from Veyrier to the Old Town and in the spring we also join in the March contre le Cancer (the Geneva Cancer League’s annual walk) which takes place in a different commune every year.

ESCA "CANCER AWARENESS TRAIL"

A guided environmental walk is given along an easy walking path and lasts about 2 – 2.30 hours. The trail is well marked for those who prefer to do it independently. A special walk with quizzes on nature for children makes this an interesting outing for families. In addition, there is an awareness fair in a local hall where healthy food and hot drinks are on sale.

The CANCER AWARENESS TRAIL generally takes place in the spring and everyone is welcome to attend.

PADDLEforCANCER Dragonboat Festival

PADDLEforCANCER takes place in September and is ESCA's annual cancer awareness and fundraising campaign. As well as being our major fundraiser, the Festival also focuses on raising awareness in the community and encouraging corporate social responsibility among enterprises and organisations. The corporate and individual response to this event has been overwhelming!

This is ESCA’s way to send a message of hope to people living with this disease and to those who support them.

In an effort to increase cancer awareness and information for all those living in the Geneva and Vaud areas we work closely with the :
