Individual counselling is a private and confidential meeting to explore difficulties you may have. Our mental health professionals are trained to help people talk through problems and explore feelings.

They will be supportive and in general will not give advice or answers, but will help you find your own answers.

It is an opportunity to talk in an open way, without being judged, or having to worry about how someone will feel about what you say.

This can be very helpful, particularly if you do not feel able to discuss your feelings and emotions with people closest to you. People come to counselling for many reasons, for example:

Sometimes it is just a general feeling of unease that we are struggling with and counselling can help make sense of it. Overall, individual counselling can help you adjust to the cancer diagnosis better, and improve your quality of life.

Please email us if you would like to see one of our Counselling Team for a consultation. The counselling sessions take place in the Quiet Room of the ESCA drop-in centre.
