Cross Everything: A personal journey into the evolution of cancer

By Henry Scowcroft

Henry Scowcroft has worked as a writer for the charity Cancer Research UK since 2003. He says it was “his first proper job”, after completing a postgraduate degree in Science Communication. His interest in writing for Cancer Research UK has largely focussed on the scientific aspects of cancer and cancer treatment and making the information accessible for newly diagnosed patients and family members. A link to his blog can be found on the Cancer Research UK website.

His life changed in 2016 when his partner Zarah was suddenly diagnosed with incurable bladder cancer in her late thirties and for them cancer became personal!

Cross Everything relates the cancer journey they went on together, interwoven with the story of Zarah’s tumour told through careful and rigorous scientific analysis. If you are more interested in one aspect of this very well written book than the other, it is possible to distinguish the human story from the science.
