Cancer Support Switzerland was formed twenty years ago in Geneva, Switzerland, by a small group of dedicated volunteers who recognized the local need for cancer support in English. Our association has grown to include people from many countries, and it is their enthusiasm for providing cancer support services that is our true strength.
Cancer Support Switzerland is a non-profit association of volunteer and paid professionals whose mission is to provide emotional support, practical help, well-being activities and a welcoming community in English to anyone affected by cancer in the Lake Geneva region.
Cancer Support Switzerland helps many people through offering them a friendly and confidential space where they can find support. We have seen increasing demand for cancer support services in English and are responding by expanding our Cancer Support network. We have exciting plans for the next 3 years to fulfil our vision that “No one faces cancer alone”.
The Director is responsible for the operational management of Cancer Support Switzerland and oversees the planning and delivery of its different activities and a CHF 500,000 budget. As well as leading a seven-person management team, s/he is also responsible for building external partnerships with donors and others in the cancer care field. The Director works closely with Cancer Support Switzerland’s President, so providing a key link between the Board and the broader Cancer Support Switzerland organization.
Candidates should have previous management experience, effective communication, and organizational abilities, with the talent to lead both paid staff and volunteers.
