Great strides have been made against cancer.  Many of us can remember when people didn’t even want to say the word ‘cancer’ because of its deadly connotation. Thankfully, that’s changed – a lot.

When ESCA CancerSupport was founded in 2000, there were no support services available in English for the significant international population of the Lake Geneva area. With improved diagnosis and treatment methods, people are living longer which is very good news. There are an estimated 320,000 people living with cancer in Switzerland. That number is predicted to double by 2030. Donors like you have helped ESCA CS grow and develop new services and thus help more people. Over the decades, we’ve done a lot to ensure that those who need our support can receive it, free of charge.

Thousands of people leave gifts in their wills to help make a difference. We’ve made amazing progress in our 20 years. But there’s still a lot of work to be done. No one wants a loved one to face a cancer diagnosis. But if that happens, we would want them supported in the best way possible.  If we keep believing, and keep giving, we can be a force-for-life in the face of cancer.

Over the years, we’ve learned that every bequest donor is different. Some like to make their gifts in total privacy and anonymity, knowing that the gift will only be revealed after they have died. Others prefer to talk to us beforehand to get information and perhaps some advice on how best to organize their gifts.
