How does our environment affect breast cancer: workshops and roundtable
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, also called Pink October to highlight the disease, encourage prevention and screening as well as show support for people affected by breast cancer and their loved ones.
In Switzerland, around 6,800 women and 60 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Behind every diagnosis, there is a life that suddenly changed.
On Saturday 10 October, join us in Geneva for a day of workshops and exchange exploring the links between our environment, our health and breast cancer.
Throughout the day, you can take part in free workshops covering topics including nutrition, movement, and the links between climate change, pollution and health. There will also be an opportunity to join our Pilates workshop (in English), with sessions from 10:00–11:00 and 11:30–12:30, focusing on body awareness, core strength and flexibility.
In the afternoon, a roundtable discussion will bring together specialists, including Sunita Sehmi, our Work and Cancer Coach, to explore environmental risk factors and breast cancer.
This event is organised as part of Pink October 2026, in collaboration with the HUG Breast Centre, La Tour Hospital, the Groupement Hospitalier de l’Ouest Lémanique, the OTIUM Foundation, the Geneva Cancer League and the Geneva Breast Cancer Screening Programme. Breast cancer prevention, screening and support are stronger when health professionals and organisations work together.
